Collaboration & Engagement

We believe that the character of a project is shaped through dialogue and diverse perspectives. As Design Architects, collaboration is central to our practice. Every project begins with empathy and active engagement with our clients, thoughtfully combining their insights with those of regional consultants and the varied expertise within our Studio Groups.

Innovation & Continuous Learning

We approach each project with curiosity and dedication to continuous learning. Embracing inquiry positions SAOTA as innovators in a rapidly evolving industry. Collaboration with our sister companies ARRCC (Interiors) and OKHA (Furniture) keeps us informed about global and emerging trends in art and design, ensuring our architecture remains innovative and relevant.

Responsibility & Sustainability

Responsibility guides our design decisions. Our in-house Resource Centre and Research Unit support Studio Groups in making informed, sustainable choices. Central to this initiative is our Sample Library, essential for precise exploration of materials and construction methods. Systems, processes, and standards developed by our EXCO units—Design, Practice, Production, Technology, and BIM—ensure our studio’s continuous evolution.

Culture of Ideas

A dynamic exchange of ideas fuels our studio culture. Our in-house magazine, STM QUARTERLY, has documented our journey for over a decade. Forums like RAD (Research, Analyse, Design) and Design Fridays gather Studio Groups and Teams to share evolving work, engage in dialogue, and exchange perspectives with Principals, colleagues, and external guests.

Professional Growth

We empower architects at all career stages to engage fully with projects and studio life. Our university-like learning environment supports professional growth through structured training, mentorship, and active participation. This commitment positions SAOTA as an employer of choice.

Community Engagement

Our commitment extends beyond our studio walls. Initiatives like SEED (Scholar Employment Experience Day) introduce architectural careers to students from historically disadvantaged backgrounds. Additionally, our involvement with the 9Miles Project supports at-risk youth, using surfing as a transformative platform for growth and community connection.

Wellness & Connection

As our studio evolves, we’ve embraced a hybrid remote-working model supported by diverse social and wellness initiatives. From fitness groups to in-person and virtual events, these activities foster connection and inspiration within our team.
