River Edge

Positioned along a riverbank with Zhongshan’s mountain range as a backdrop, this mixed-use development integrates architecture and landscape through form, orientation, and materiality. Combining office, retail, hospitality, and wellness programmes, the design draws inspiration from geological layering and the contemplative spatial qualities of Chinese monasteries. 

To the south, planted roofs, skylights, and water features fold the building into the terrain. To the north, the structure opens outward, with ramps and terraces that engage the river’s edge, framing views and inviting moments of reflection. 

The project moves between enclosure and openness, solidity and fluidity. Through careful modulation of spatial thresholds and site contours, River Edge establishes a tranquil, immersive architectural experience that embraces introspection and outward connection.
