Brise

Located in the coastal district of Les Almadies in Dakar, Brise is a multi-residential apartment building distinguished by its layered, tapestry-like brise soleil façade. This dynamic envelope integrates locally manufactured breeze blocks – reminiscent of those used in Dakar’s late modernist architecture – with planters and light shelves. It strikes a balance between privacy and openness while effectively reducing solar heat gain. At the heart of the building, a central atrium draws natural light deep into the interior, enhancing both ventilation and the overall spatial experience.
