SAOTA is proud to announce the promotion of Danielle Reimers and Dominik George to the Principal group.

Danielle Reimers, a native of Cape Town, completed her Master’s degree at UCT, where she received five “Best Student” awards, including the prestigious Corobrik and CIA awards. Her dissertation was among a select few published by Bell-Roberts.

Danielle has been a key member of SAOTA for over a decade, leading projects ranging from villas in Europe, the Longcheer Hotel in Shenzhen, the First Academy Campus in Lagos, corporate headquarters in Senegal, and several projects in Japan. She has also been instrumental in developing many of the systems used daily at SAOTA.

Recently, Danielle represented UCT at the annual Oxford Aspen Seminar and added an MBA from UCT Business School to her list of accomplishments, which she completed while managing demanding projects. Danielle has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, and her team would attest not only to her talent and professionalism but also to her fun-loving character. Amidst her impressive career, Danielle has skilfully balanced her professional and personal roles as architect, parent, and partner.

Dominik George was born in Nigeria and grew up in Johannesburg. He completed his master’s in architecture at the University of Witwatersrand in 2006, achieving distinctions for design and dissertation. After working abroad, he made the move to Cape Town and joined SAOTA in 2012. Through his work abroad and locally, Dominik has been exposed to a variety of building types: residential, educational, mixed-use, commercial, and civic. He is passionate and excited by all aspects of architecture, which is apparent in all projects he is involved in.

Dominik is a natural leader and a talented all-rounder. As he has worked his way up through the ranks, he has built a strong and loyal team. He has also been the spearhead of the EXCO BIM Unit and has played a considerable role in developing systems and documentation templates in the studio.

We are proud to welcome both Danielle and Dominik to the Principal group, where their skills will undoubtedly enrich our leadership and help shape the future of SAOTA.
