SAOTA’s project Kloof 119A was showcased in the Architect’s Gallery at this year’s Design Joburg featuring Rooms on View from 25-27 May 2018, at the Sandton Convention Centre.

The space was curated by Joburg architect, designer and artist Shaun Gaylard of Blank Ink Design and featured architectural studios such as Boogertman + Partners, Osmond Lange, Silvio Rech and Lesley Carstens, W Design Architecture Studio and StudioMAS.

Kloof 119A is a Cape Town family home positioned below Lion’s Head; with views of Table Mountain and Signal Hill. The strongest gesture of the home is the inverted pyramid roof which creates a clerestory window around the upper level.  It allows the home to open up, capturing the views of Table Mountain and Lion’s Head. SAOTA Director, Greg Truen, built a model of Kloof 119A which was also exhibited at the event.

We’d like to thank Design Joburg and the Architect’s Gallery for allowing SAOTA to participate in this prestigious event.
